How it All Started

In 2020, Dr. Hamed Pashaei and Sepideh Nasafat founded Viva Health Centre together in Richmond Hill.

For more than three decades, Dr. Pashaei has dedicated his career to medicine. His path began at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, where he trained in internal medicine, a foundation that shaped everything that followed. From there, he chose to specialize further in nephrology, drawn to its focus on prevention: catching issues like high blood pressure and kidney stones early, before they become serious. Today, he’s board-certified in both internal medicine and nephrology, in both Canada and the United States, and he brings that same focus on early, preventive care to every patient he sees.

Sepideh Nasafat earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from Tehran University of Medical Sciences before building a career across three countries, Iran, Canada, and the United States, including four years as a Clinical Pharmacist at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. She requalified her credentials twice along the way, first after immigrating to Canada in 2002, then again for licensing in the US, all while raising a young family, a level of persistence that now shapes how she leads the pharmacy side of patient care.

Together, they built Viva Health Centre around one simple belief: that patients and community should always come first. They saw how troubling and disconnected healthcare could feel, different offices, different systems, nothing working together. So they set out to build something completely different: a little haven where good healthcare is accessible to get, not something patients have to figure out on their own.
