What OHIP Doesn't Cover

Some services fall outside standard OHIP coverage and may involve an out-of-pocket cost, such as:

• Certain forms, notes, or medical documentation (e.g., sick notes, travel forms)
  Paperwork like a sick note for work or school, or a travel medical form. These usually aren't covered by OHIP, since they're administrative rather than medical treatment, except a flat fee, which the front desk can confirm for you.
  
  

• Some cosmetic or elective procedures
  Procedures that aren't medically necessary, purely cosmetic or optional in nature. These fall outside OHIP coverage and are billed separately, so it's worth asking about cost before you book.
  
  

• Certain vaccinations not funded by the province
  Most routine vaccines are covered, but some, like certain travel vaccines, aren't funded by OHIP and come with an out-of-pocket cost. Ask the clinic which vaccines are covered before your appointment.
  
  

• Services for patients without a valid OHIP card
  If your OHIP card is expired, missing, or you're not eligible for coverage, standard visit costs will apply. Call ahead so we can walk you through pricing based on your situation.
